Protect the beauty of your natural stone

Marble is a natural stone known for its unique veining, movement, and timeless beauty. With proper care and maintenance, your marble surfaces can stay beautiful for years to come.

Because marble is a natural stone, it can be susceptible to etching, staining and scratching.

Following a few simple care guidelines can help protect your investment.

DO ✓

Clean spills promptly

Wipe up wine, coffee, soda, tomato sauce, citrus, and other potentially acidic spills as soon as possible. (Allowing these substances to sit on marble can cause staining or etching).

For everyday cleaning, use a warm water and a mild, stone-safe cleaner are also appropriate for routine cleaning.

Use cutting boards

Always use a cutting board when preparing food. (Cutting directly on marble can scratch the surface and may dull the finish.)

Place hot pots, pans, and cookware on a trivet or heat-resistant pad rather than directly on the marble.

Coasters and placemats can help protect marble from spills, rings, and everyday wear.

Use trays or mats underneath cosmetics, lotions, perfumes, and other personal-care products.

Maintain your sealer (Sealing can provide additional protection against staining)

DON’T ✕

Don’t use acidic cleaners

Avoid vinegar, lemon, citrus-based cleaners, and other acidic products. These can react with marble and cause etching.

Don’t use abrasive products

Avoid abrasive powders, scouring pads, and harsh cleaning products that can scratch or damage the surface.

Don’t let spills sit

Even when marble is sealed, spills should not be left sitting on the surface for extended periods.

Don’t cut directly on the countertop

Knives can scratch marble and may leave marks that require professional restoration.

Don’t place hot cookware directly on marble

Always use a trivet or heat-resistant surface underneath hot cookware.

Don’t use harsh chemicals

Avoid cleaners containing bleach, ammonia, or other harsh chemicals unless they are specifically approved for your particular stone.

Don’t use unapproved polishing products

Before applying any polish, sealer, or treatment, make sure it is specifically designed for your marble and finish.
